It was December 21st 2025 and I decided to mark the turning point of the year when the nights are the longest and the days are the shortest by going to see the sunset at one of my favourite places, Dollar Cove.  I wasn't quite sure what I would paint or on what size canvas but when I arrived it seemed perfect to set up my easel right down on the shoreline, close to the beautiful smallish waves rolling in from the Atlantic.  The sun was setting right in the middle of the cove.  It was heavenly.
